Festival Program 2006
On Friday, July 28 we are starting at the castle courtyard at 20:00 with an opening ceremony. Friday program will be dedicated to contemporary Roma production. We will start the evening traditionally with the Roma anthem, which every year sing together all the performing artists as well as our abundant international audience. We will continue with the concert of Ida Kelarová, Romano Rat and the Apsora choir. The Kale, Bengas, Terne Čhave, Gipsy Harry band, Devla Drom, Martin *Bies and *Flamenco Clan Roma bands (and some others) will perform this evening.
For Saturday, July 29 we have again prepared a special program dedicated to our outstanding Roma artists in the field of jazz, funk and Roma pop, such as the world famous artists Ondra Krajnák and his band (jazz), Klaudio and band (jazz), Milo Suchomel and band (jazz), Holub Ensemble (jazz), Jožka Fečo and the Connection (funk), Gitanes (latin), Věra Gondolánová, Desiderius Dužda, Monika Bagárová and young Roma talents, Lazok Brothers (rompop), M-Dance Club and many others.
On Sunday, July 30, Svojanov will chime with traditional Roma culture – many Roma artists and bands will take us deep into the traditional Roma music. Among these, there will be the Romathan theater, Čilágos, Janka Sendrei band, dulcimer music Gitan, dulcimer band of Ivan Herák, dulcimer band of Mr. Kotlár and our favorites Bartošovci band, with whom we are going to remember their late band leader, Mr. Julius Šuk Bartoš. On Sunday, we will also celebrate the 6th anniversary of the Gypsy Celebration festival and the closing ceremony will sound with all the audience joint singing.
We will also launch our first CD with a recording of Gypsy Celebration 2005.
For each of the long evenings, during which our Roma artists will be accompanying you till late at night, we are offering a ticket for just 200 CZK.
